NHS Spectator Policy

Ice Hockey & Basketball

Protocols to attend a Newington Coop Ice Hockey or Basketball game:
  1. Masks must be worn at all times.
  2. Only parents/guardians, or 1 parent/guardian and 1 sibling, will be allowed to attend home contests throughout the season.
  3. Complete Spectator Wellness Assessment on the day of the contest before arriving at the game. If the answer is "Yes" to any of the questions, the spectator is not allowed to attend the contest that day. (Form is located on www.newingtonathletics.com under the Forms link)
  4. 10 minutes (Ice Hockey), 15 minutes (Basketball) prior to the start of the game, parents/guardians will be allowed to enter the rink or gym. Spectators should not wait in the rink lobby before an ice hockey contest. Spectators should stay socially distant and face masks will need to be worn once you have exited your car.
  5. Upon entry to the arena or gym, a staff member will verify the Spectator Wellness Self Assessment for the spectators attending and they will be directed to a designated area in the stands. Spectators must maintain 6 ft. spacing while seated in the rink. Those spaces will be utilized for the entirety of the contest. Spectators are not allowed to congregate before, during, or after the event with other spectators or student athletes.
  6. Upon completion of the contest, spectators will be allowed to exit by row to ensure social distancing when departing the facility. Please wait until the entire section closest to the exit has moved before exiting your section. Student athletes will meet parents/guardians at their cars in the parking lot.
We are excited to be able to provide this opportunity for our parents/guardians. It is imperative that the protocols are followed in order to provide a safe and healthy environment for our parents/guardians and student athletes. Failure to adhere to the protocols will result in removal from the event and an inability to attend future contests.

As always, we expect good sportsmanship to be displayed from any fans in attendance and look forward to your positive support of our student athletes, coaches, and officials.
