Nadratowski, Nguyen, Weaver, and Rocheleau shatter 22 year old relay record at CIAC Class L State Finals.
Newington saw the school's 400 free relay record broken for the first time since 1996 in an exciting race. The team of Sarah Nadratowkski (58.69), Christine Nguyen (1:00.11), Lindsay Weaver (57.74), and Amber Rocheleau (52.63) combined to drop 5 seconds and better the school's record by 3 seconds, finishing with a time of 3:49.17. The race made the group contenders for the state open meet. Rocheleau earned all state honors, placing 3rd in the 100 fly with a 58.51, also placing 5th in the 200 free with a 1:55.45. Weaver placed 23rd in the 100 fly with a time of 1:03.94. The medley relay team of Gabby Aquino, Rocheleau, Weaver, and Nadratowski finished 14th with a time of 2:03.56, while the 200 free relay team of Allison Goegel, Erin Abrams, Julia Mazur, and Aquino placed 18th with a time of 1:56.88. Newington finished 12th overall in Class L.

Newington saw several strong finishes at Class L State Trials. The medley relay team of Gabby Aquino, Amber Rocheleau, Lindsay Weaver, and Sarah Nadratowski placed 12th with a 2:02.77. Two individual athletes represented Newington in the 200 freestyle. Senior captain Julia Mazur participated in the state meet as an individual qualifier for the first time, finishing 35th with a 2:13.69. Rocheleau then had a lifetime best of 1:56.22, earning her a 6th place finish and a spot in the top heat at state finals. In the 100 fly, Weaver dropped two seconds to earn a spot at state finals with a 1:03.07, while Rocheleau finished in 3rd place with a time of 58.68. In the 200 free relay, Newington finished 18th with the team of Nadratowski, Victoria Savluk, Jade Kennedy, and Talitha Featherstone-Alston. Erin Abrams then dropped two seconds in the 100 breast, placing 32nd with a time of 1:15.82. The 400 free relay team of Nadratowski, Christine Nguyen, Weaver, and Rocheleau finished the meet by dropping an astonishing 8 seconds off their seed time, coming within two seconds of a school record with a time of 3:54.49.

Newington has strong showing at CCC West Meet.
Newington's medley relay team of Gabby Aquino, Amber Rocheleau, Lindsay Weaver, and Sarah Nadratowski started off the meet with a fifth place finish in a time of 2:04.17. Julia Mazur had a 9th place finish in the 200 free with a lifetime best of 2:13.54. In the same event, Jade Kennedy (2:34.08) and Alexa DePase (2:43.73) also dropped time. In the 200 IM, Weaver placed 5th with a best time of 2:32.12 and Christine Nguyen placed 10th, dropping 4 seconds to go a 2:40.61. Rocheleau took a second place finish in the 50 free while Allison Goegel (29.53), Leilanie Perez (33.93), and Sara Studzinski (39.98) dropped time in the same event. Weaver then had a 6th place finish in the 100 fly, and Jillian McCormick (1:15.22), Victoria Savluk (1:18.09), and Goegel (1:18.56) all had significant time drops. In the 100 free, Erin Abrams and Nguyen both had strong finishes that scored points for the Indians. In the 500 free, Nadratowski (5:51.13) and Mazur (6:00.15) both saw best times that earned them 6th place and 9th place respectively, while Leilanie Perez also had a best time of 7:32.70. Gabby Targonska had a season best time in the 100 back, earning her a 12th place finish. Rocheleau earned another second place finish in the 100 breast with a season best of 1:11.35, while Abrams took 10th place with a best time of 1:17.49. Newington's 400 free relay team then ended the meet with another 5th place finish and a season best of 4:02.52.

Newington sees strong swims in final dual meet against Farmington.
Newington had many strong swims in a tough meet against Farmington. The medley relay team of Gabby Aquino, Amber Rocheleau, Lindsay Weaver, and Sarah Nadratowski opened up the meet with a season best time of 2:01.96, taking second place. Rocheleau continued her undefeated streak with first place finishes in the 200 free (2:02.99) and the 500 free (5:31.59). Weaver had two second place finishes in the 200 IM (2:36.86) and 100 fly (1:07.50). Talitha Featherstone-Alston saw season best times in the 200 free (2:27.31) and the 100 back (1:18.92). Jillian McCormick continued to drop time in her 200 IM with a lifetime best of 2:47.14, while Christine Nguyen had a personal best time in the 100 free with a 1:02.92. Nadratowski and Leilanie Perez both had lifetime bests in the 500 free with a 5:56.87 and 7:45.00 respectively.

Rocheleau remains undefeated as Indians fall to Southington.
Newington competed against Southington on their senior night with several key swimmers missing from the meet. Julia Mazur (2:20.53) had a strong finish in the 200 freestyle, coming from behind to take second place in the 200 freestyle. Amber Rocheleau (25.49) then continued her undefeated streak in her closest race of the season, out-touching Southington's swimmer in the 50 freestyle by 6 hundredths of a second. She also had a first place finish in the 500 freestyle (5:31.29). Jillian McCormick (1:16.19) and Victoria Savluk (1:21.70) saw season best times in the 100 fly, taking third and fourth place respectively. Talitha Featherstone-Alston dropped significant time from her season best in the 200 freestyle, while Allison Goegel continued to drop time in her relay swims.

Newington swims well in tough loss to Hall.
Newington had many strong races and personal best times in loss to Hall. Newington had their fastest performance this season in the 200 medley relay to start the meet with the team of Gabby Aquino, Amber Rocheleau, Lindsay Weaver, and Sarah Nadratowski (2:04.59), giving the team a second place finish. Julia Mazur (2:17.07) dropped over three seconds off her personal best time to take third place in the 200 free, while Christine Nguyen (2:19.61) dropped seven seconds to take fourth. Rocheleau (2:15.69) took first in the 200 IM with a season best time, and Nadratowski (28.02) saw a season best in the 50 free to take third place. Rocheleau (1:02.09) and Nadratowski (1:01.14) also had season best times to take first in the 100 fly and second in the 100 free respectively. Aquino (1:02.98) and Erin Abrams (1:03.16) also swam best times in the 100 free, taking fourth and fifth place. The season best times continued in the 500 free for Mazur (6:11.71), Talitha Featherstone-Alston (6:40.59), and Jillian McCormick (6:52.58). Abrams then dropped two more seconds in a close 100 breast race (1:18.57). Newington's undefeated 400 free relay team of Nadratowski, Aquino, Weaver, and Rocheleau shaved more than 6 seconds off their previous finish with a time of 4:03.25.

Abrams shines as Newington falls to Conard.
Newington saw their first loss of the season against a strong Conard team, but freshman Erin Abrams had a strong performance with three personal best times. She had the fastest 100 free (1:04.07) and 100 breast (1:20.09) times for Newington, and also dropped time in the 50 breast leg of the medley relay. Newington started the meet with a close second place finish in the medley relay (2:04.80) with the team of Gabby Aquino, Amber Rocheleau, Lindsay Weaver, and Sarah Nadratowksi. They then had strong finishes from Rocheleau (2:00.74) and Julia Mazur in the 200 free (2:21.75), taking first and third respectively, while Weaver took second in the 200 IM (2:38.91). Rocheleau (5:25.03) then took another first place finish in the 500 free, while Nadratowski placed third with a personal best time of 6:01.98. Despite being behind in the meet, Newington finished strong in the 400 free relay (4:09.77) with the team of Nadratowski, Christine Ngueyn, Aquino, and Rocheleau.

Mazur, Weaver, and Rocheleau lead Newington to win over East Hartford.
Newington saw two first place finishes each from Julia Mazur (200 free, 500 free), Lindsay Weaver (200 IM, 100 fly), and Amber Rocheleau (50 free, 100 breast). Christine Nguyen also had key second place finishes in the 200 IM and the 500 free. The 200 free relay team of Allison Goegel, Erin Abrams, Jillian McCormick, and Nguyen had a strong first place finish with a time of 1:59.45, while the 400 free relay team of Sarah Nadratowski, Gabby Aquino, Weaver, and Rocheleau closed the meet with another first place finish in a time of 4:10.30. The Indians also saw personal best times from many swimmers including Jade Kennedy (200 free), Alexa DePase (200 free), Leilanie Perez (50 free), Quynh Bui (50 free), Olivia Zagula (50 free), Rocheleau (50 free), Nguyen (500 free), Nadratowski (100 back), Aquino (100 back) and Abrams (100 breast).

Newington improves to 3-0 with win over Bristol Central.
Newington's relays continued to shine as the medley relay teams once again took first and second place to open up the meet. Julia Mazur (2:22.55) then took first place in the 200 freestyle, while Amber Rocheleau (2:16.87) followed with a first place finish in the 200 IM. 50 freestyle sprinters Gabby Aquino (29.12), Sarah Nadratowski (29.33), and Gabby Targonska (32.12) took second, third, and fourth place respectively. Rocheleau (1:02.74) took first in 100 fly, while Nadratowski (1:02.75) took a close second place finish in the 100 free. The 200 freestyle relay team of Nadratowski, Mazur, Christine Nguyen, and Rocheleau took first place by 3 hundredths of a second in a competitive race. Newington also saw personal best times from Sara Studzinski, Allison Goegel, and Jillian McCormick.

Newington shows depth in team win over Middletown.
Newington got off to a fast start against Middletown with the 200 medley relay teams going 1, 2, 3. Amber Rocheleau (1:59.87) took first place in the 200 free, while Julia Mazur took third with a 2:21.55. Lindsay Weaver dropped three seconds in the 200 IM to take first with a 2:34.65. Newington then took 2, 3, 4 in the 50 free with Sarah Nadratowski (28.92), Gabby Aquino (28.95), and Christine Nguyen (29.31). Weaver had another impressive swim taking first in the 100 fly and qualifying for states with a 1:05.17. Nadratowski and Aquino went on to take first and second respectively in the 100 free, while Rocheleau and Mazur took first and third again in the 500 free. Gabby Targonska and Erin Abrams guaranteed Newington's win with first place finishes in the 100 back and 100 breast respectively. This meet had contributions from all athletes and was an important team win.

Newington opens the season with a win over Enfield.
Newington took an early lead over Enfield after taking first and second place in the medley relay with the teams of Gabby Targonska, Erin Abrams, Amber Rocheleau, Sarah Nadratowski (2:10.75) and Gabby Aquino, Maddy Jordan, Lindsay Weaver, Jillian McCormick (2:12.13). Julia Mazur (2:24.13), Christine Nguyen (2:26.53), and Allison Goegel (2:39.34) then took first, second, and third place in the 200 freestyle respectively. Newington went on to take the top three places again in the 500 freestyle with Nadratowski (6:22.88), Mazur (6:28.37), and Weaver (6:38.75), while Amber Rocheleau (56.85) had a state qualifying first place finish in the 100 freestyle. The Indians guaranteed their victory by once again taking the top two spots in the 200 freestyle relay with the teams of Targonska, McCormick, Nguyen, Mazur (2:04.56) and Jordan, Victoria Savluk, Goegel, and Abrams (2:07.22).
