Freitas' 3-pointer lifts Girls Basketball

SIMSBURY — Emalie Freitas scored with six seconds left to give Newington’s girls basketball team a 42-40 road upset win over Simsbury.

Freitas finished with nine points while Abrial Murray had 10 for the victors, now 5-9.

Simsbury dropped to 12-4 with the loss thanks to six 3-pointers by Newington in the win.
