Cross Country has big day at CCC Championships

Leading the way for Newington was junior Thomas Doyle, who finished 23rd overall with a time of 17:36.41. Doyle was the third-place finisher in the South Blue Division, while Newington sophomore Syed Abeer Asar took fifth in the division.

Joining those two as all-conference runners for Newington were sophomore Shamar Murray and junior Jason Marques.

“I was very pleased with the results today,” Newington coach Donald Brown said. “They have done everything I have asked them to and performed well today. Having four runners make all-conference just shows what hard work and dedication can do.”
