Ron Abraham, perfect again

Ron Abraham finished his second consecutive 18-0 regular season with a straight-set victory during Newington’s 4-3 win over RHAM.

 

“I was sort of aware of it going into the match,” Abraham said. “It’s just my experience of just playing. I just told myself not to worry about it.”

Abraham, who credited his coaches and family for his success,  made the quarterfinals last year in the state tournament and wants All-State this year, a recognition which requires a trip to the semifinals. Still, he’s letting the process do the work for him.

“If you worry about winning or losing, that’s where the pressure comes from,” he said. “It’s just a matter of not overthinking it.”
