Girls Basketball beats Berlin; Heads to Semis

NEWINGTON - Holding a narrow lead heading into the fourth quarter, the Newington girls basketball team turned to one of its most trusted scorers to push the Indians into the CCC Tournament semifinals.

Ashanti Frazier caught fire in the final period, scoring 16 of her 30 points in the fourth to guide Newington to a 58-48 win over Berlin on Saturday.

Frazier added seven rebounds and three steals to her overall dominating performance, while Alexie Armour grabbed 10 rebounds to go along with her seven points.

Lyzi Litwinko led the Redcoats with 24 points, while Carly Grega added 11
