Golf Tournament Registration

Luke Stanford was a Newington kid and known to many. He attended Newington High School and graduated with us in 1998. He attended University of Tampa and later settled into the Orlando area before enlisting in the United States Army in 2004. He attended basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Upon completion of training he was assigned to Charley Company, 16th Eng. BN. While assigned to the 16th, his unit was deployed to Tal Afar, Iraq in January 2006. During his tour in Tal Afar his unit conducted numerous mounted and dismounted patrols. In September 2006 the platoon moved south to Ramadi where they completed their tour in February 2007. He decided to reenlist and was serving as a member of the 911th Engineering Company (Technical Rescue). The 911th w...as established after the attacks on our country and serves as a technical rescue division for Federal emergencies and natural disasters. While stationed at Ft. Belvoir he was assigned as the Alpha Team Leader of Second Squad, First Platoon. He was currently serving his country in the US Army and had dreams of following in his grandfathers footsteps and becoming an TF agent when he passed away unexpectedly on 10/4/2008. The Sgt. Luke Stanford Memorial Golf Tournament has been set up to assist in fundraising for the Sgt. Luke Stanford Scholarship Fund that is given out annually to a Newington High School Senior. The tournament is being held on May 4th 2013 at 1:00 PM at Stanley Golf Course in New Britain, CT. We are looking for sponsors, GOLFERS, volunteers, and/or raffle donations.
