Coach: Patrick Douglas (2nd year)

Last year: 0-18

Key losses: Erika Mortensen, Sarah Horvath, Alex Marques.

Key returnees: Carly Wanner-Hyde, soph., Paulina Baclawska, jr., Stasha Greenalch sr., Alicia Greenalch sr., Gabby Gratchev jr., Amanda Loffredo jr.

Outlook: Douglas points out the Indians have nowhere to go but up, and should this year. The Indians are led by the Greenalch sisters. Stasha is the team’s top returning offensive player while Alicia led the team in digs last season. Wanner-Hyde only saw limited varsity action last year, but seems ready to step in to the setter role. The Indians seem to have the most experience on defense, which should help keep them in points this year. The division is brutal, but Newington should have enough pieces to be much more competitive this season.
