AVON — The Newington boys golf team showed just how dangerous of a team it is with a strong performance at the Avon Invitational at Blue Fox Run Monday afternoon.
The Indians put up a team score of 312, which was good enough for second place out of 17 schools. The only team to beat out Newington was Glastonbury, which shot a 308.
Jake Hedberg was the medalist for the invitational, shooting a 72 on the 18-hole course. Noah Hedberg and Ben Weyman was right behind him, both shooting a 29 while Tim Welles shot an 82. Max Turgeon also had a 90 for the Indians.
