Newington
Coach: Kelsey Cronin (first year)
Last year: 7-4-1
Key losses: Seven lettermen.
Key returnees: Danielle Rocheleau (senior), Veronika Latawiec (senior), Olivia Karanian (senior), Julie Iskra (senior) and Bridget Austin (senior)
Outlook: Berlin isn’t the only team with a new coach. Kelsey Cronin is also taking over in Newington as a first year coach.
“The head coach of many years had to move on and was unable to coach this swim season. It was both a great loss to the girls and myself,” Cronin said.
She takes over a team that lost seven starters, but has some experienced swimmers ready to fill in.
“Our team is composed of a wonderful group of hardworking and dedicated young ladies who have grown up in the swimming world,” Cronin said. “Their drive and determination will take them far this season and I am looking forward to see what they can accomplish as a team.”
One of those returning swimmers is Danielle Rocheleau, who is one of the school’s top record holders.
