Please read. Local "Summer Camp" One way to have fun running over the summer is to find new and interesting venues to test drive. So to encourage your exploration, here is a series of suggested destinations this summer: Northwest Park, Windsor Berlin Open Space, near Sage Park (mini golf) and Lamentation Mountain (hiking) Rockwell Park, Bristol (compare BC's "monster" to ours) Stratton Brook, Simsbury (state park with swimming) Winding Trails, Farmington (need to pay, but includes swimming) Anytime - WH Rez, Vernon (Church St) Rails to Trails, and trail along CT River between Wethersfield & Rocky Hill Ferry Overnight Summer Camps (pandemic guidelines permitting) Attending a week-long summer camp is an excellent way to build strength and friendships. As an added incentive, the XC Boosters generously provide scholarships. Camp is most fun when you attend with other friends, so consult them and your parents to put together a fun & productive summer running experience!
Here is a sampling of summer running camps: In CT, at Camp WahNee. Sleep in cabins, plenty of activities (including GaGa Pit)
