Boys Basketball adds a W

The Newington boys basketball team got out to an early lead in the first quarter and never looked back as the Indians defeated Conard 60-48 on the road Thursday night.

Jared Simmons finished with a double-double for Newington with 15 points and 11 assists while Marcus Guadarrama led all scorers with 18 points. Edwin Gomez also had a solid game with 12 points in the victory.

Aidan Maloney had 12 points and Will Simons had 11 for Conard in the loss.

With the win, the Indians improve to 4-4 on the year while the Chieftains drop below .500 to 4-5.
